And with solar prices falling by 36% over the last five years, more residents are opting to go solar than ever before. Net metering in Las Vegas

After being eliminated in 2015, net metering was reinstated in 2017, much to the delight of Clark County residents looking to maximize the return on their solar investment. Under this new law, new solar customers will be reimbursed for the surplus energy they contribute to the grid at 95 percent of the retail electricity rate. However, this credit will decline to as low as 75 percent in the coming years. So the time to install solar is now.

When it comes to renewable energy, Nevada sets a great example for other states. In April 2019, Nevada passed a widely-celebrated bill that will require the state to generate 50% of its electricity from renewable resources by 2030. That’s not a typo. Fifty percent! For decades to come, residents of Las Vegas will enjoy lower energy costs and millions of dollars of economic impact through the creation of new jobs — all while helping preserve the natural environment. From Henderson to North Las Vegas, solar has a bright future in Nevada. And we’re excited to be a part of it.
